Payments & Settlements Officer (Junior) | Porto

Looking to grow your career in the international financial sector?

We are looking for a Junior Cash SSI Officer to join a team specialized in settlement instruction management and operational controls. If you have experience in banking or financial operations and are looking for a challenging, collaborative, and international environment, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
Analyze and validate the consistency of Standard Settlement Instructions (SSI) for payments.
Perform client data controls and validations across internal and external systems.
Contact clients and counterparties to verify payment instructions.
Create, update, and maintain settlement instructions across the organization's different systems.
Monitor suspicious payments through existing control tools.
Ensure the daily management of operational risk related to the activity.
Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve operational queries.
Report and escalate significant operational incidents, including breaches, errors, and other critical events.
Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and ensure strict compliance with internal and external audit requirements.
Ensure all controls are thoroughly performed and that any deviations or incidents are promptly addressed and properly documented.
Contribute to the development, documentation, and continuous improvement of business processes and internal procedures.
Ensure compliance with internal procedures, regulatory requirements, and established control standards.

What We Are Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Management, or a related field.
1 to 3 years of professional experience in financial operations, banking operations, or similar roles.
Knowledge of financial products.
Knowledge of banking operations.
Basic understanding of international payments and the SWIFT network.
Knowledge of international financial regulations (preferred).
Knowledge of risk management practices (preferred).
Good Excel skills.
Fluency in English and French, both written and spoken.
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
